Valentines day being so close to my birthday, I've never really celebrated it, besides its for the youngsters isn't it? Its a chat hubby and I had a few days ago. When your married or in a long term relationship what is this special day for?
In my day (teens) The whole point of the day was to send a card to someone you fancied but were to scared to tell them to their face so you would sign it with a ?, so whats the point of sending a card with wife or husband, boyfriend, girlfriend the worlds gone commercially crazy lol.
I agree with the point that its lovely to have another day that your better half shows they care, but does a card really do that? flowers? chocolates?.... i'm not sure that it does surely a surprise bunch of flowers throughout the year is more meaningful? or am i just a cynic?
There's something to be said for the element of surprise and if everyone else is doing the card thing on the same day ar'nt we just making the other person think about us because society says they should?
Well there is love in the world and I'm grateful for that what a horrible place it would be if we didn't. My son 20 and his lady Eliza 18 have been together for around 6 years and are now expecting their first baby so love truly is in the air for them its so sweet. So i decided to get off my soap box and celebrate valentines day by designing a bright and cheerful page for them. I chose Doodlebugs new collection 'So Punny' , Its incredibly bright and cheerful and full of sweet little anecdotes. Each page is totally different that the colors blend together perfectly. I've put a little process video together, I hope you like it, its much shorter than many of the others but it does show I hope my thought process. Til the next time x Julie
