Turkish Delight

So my challenge from the SID crop was to create a double page. Choose a layout. Must be purple/violet. As soon as the color purple was mentioned, at once new exactly which event I would be scrap booking, our wedding day in Analaya Turkey 5th April 2014 Such a beautiful day in every way so I scrapped 6 pictures, I have so many it was hard to choose which ones to show.

I had loved Turkey ever since a holiday there in 2008, certain parts were absolutely stunning and I wanted to return and also show my Darren ( future husband at this time) and his two girls how beautiful it was.

Two years prior to these pictures I was online on a forum whereby you could post a question about anything about anywhere in the world. Purely being inquisitive I posted if anyone could help with a wedding planning in Turkey.

Some weeks later I had a wonderful email from Aysun Hooche who was Turkish and an English teacher she ran her own consultancy firm and we became great friends over this whole process. She said she could help with all the plans and being 'in the know' with the locals, the price would be good too!

In no time at all she had arranged a beautiful yacht for the service and also a top quality photographer, the buffet and cake and all the trimmings. I was starting to think that this was all too good too be true as my mum had taught me 'it probably is'

So whilst waiting for the date to arrive Darren and I had dreams of dancing properly together so had a dance instructor ever week for about 6 months, she was fab Coreen choreographed a dance especially for our favorite song Amazed by you by Lone star. We had a reception planned when we got home with all our friends and family and this dance was so important to us both.

There was no point in me getting myself all worked up with worry so as it was nearly time to part with a chunk of money to someone I hadn't even met!! so I told Aysun in a video call and we had a long chat. I wired her the money and the deed was done.

All that needed doing was for us to get my dress 2 suits and 2 bridesmaids dresses and somehow get them to Antalaya safe and sound, But all that was on my mind is what if there was no Aysun, what if there's no yacht or wedding etc etc.

So my stress levels were through the roof above and beyond those for just the wedding, the first 5 days of our holiday were a total blurr then the day arrived.....

The hotel staff clapped and ooo'd and rrr'd it felt so good yet i was still worried , i saw Darren waiting by the Bar and I melted and all my worries just disappeared. within minutes a beautiful lady in a pink hat turned up and introduced herself as Aysun, OMG what a relief she was real!!

Aysun escorted us to Mercedes minibus decorated with purple tulle beautiful it was smiles and laughter all the way to the mangravat River where docked at the side was this beautiful yacht once again decorated in purple. I have never been so happy, so grateful and so in love.We boarded the little boat to take us to the yacht, not an easy task with a train !

Such beautiful decorations this is what we saw when we boarded totally gobsmacked!

Such a lovely cake and buffet laid on by Aysun and friends

Decorations throughout. They worked so hard for us and we were so pleased

our little boat. aww i was petrified

Wow!

So our private ceremony with our own vows had everyone in tears it was so emotional, just perfect I will never forget a second
