Welcome to my blog, its taken me a while to set up lol. I'm the proud Founder of the best scrap booking group ( obviously I would say that, but it actually is!)
So who the hell am I? and why am I blogging? well i'm glad you asked I'm Julie, 52 I'm in the UK, I am married to Darren and have 4 children. 22,19,13 and 9 and i have the most perfect grandson 18 months old called Leo. Right thats a bit about me but why am I here?
At 52 I find some forms of media a bit of a headache so my group #inspired by memories is sited on face book where I am now approaching 1.4 k members.
The reason I started this group is that I have always been 'Crafty' yet since school, adult life has prevented me having the time to explore my passions.
My world fell apart, or so I thought, when in 2014 following an accident and years of treatment I had to leave my career which spanning over 35 years consisted mainly of Retail & Commercial Management and Trainer, also Administrative Management and even working for our wonderful Ambulance service as a 999 call taker.
Surely I have skills that I could put to use? Surely at just 47 my working life wasn't over? I have so much too give I'm bubbly and confident organised and patient so why am I in extreme depression? wallowing in my own pity? ......STOP!!!!
My daughter Katie then around 18 joined a kit club and started to scrapbook, I didn't really take much notice for several years as was so wrapped up in my pain and sorrow. Then one day I Kicked myself up the butt & decided enough was enough!!!
So how am I gonna fill all these days after working 15 hour days for years? So i'm now diagnosed with peripheral Nuropathy, arthritis, spinal damage and now fibromyalgia. My mobility is poor, It fluctuates day to day on how much I can do, is there others out there in the same situation? the answer is absolutely yes!!
So together with my daughter I decided to start Inspired by Memories to see if those with mobility problems could be helped by crafting as well as able bodied and guess what? yes, it does and many of our members suffer similar problems to me and together we are conquering the scrapbook world.
Daily challenges weekly and monthly competitions are just a few of the amazing inspiring challenges I offer on the page as well as chit chat help with problems and obviously inspiration which is what I do best.We also have quarterly online crops which are second to none. Katie is now in her 3rd year as a teacher so I am now full time looking after my group making sure everyone is happy and new members are asking to join daily, come along and see what all the fuss is about.
Now I have this blog too and the website will launch soon!! with a plan to offer specialist inspirational kits, tailor made just for you and your budget later in the new year.
